Your data on this site
Last updated
This site is run by Web on Devices Ltd, St Albans, UK. I'm Mate Marschalko, and I'm responsible for any personal data it collects. Questions go to webondevices@gmail.com.
What I collect
When you get in touch
The contact form asks for your name, email address, company (optional), the topics you're interested in and your message. It's sent to my inbox as an email, and I use it only to reply and to talk about the work you've asked about. The site itself doesn't store it.
To keep out spam, the form runs Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks your browser is a real one without setting tracking cookies.
I keep enquiries for as long as we're talking, plus a reasonable time after, in case you come back to it. Ask me and I'll delete yours.
Analytics, only if you accept
If you accept the analytics banner, the site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages people read. Google sets cookies (_ga and _ga_…) to tell one visit from another and receives your IP address, browser and device details, and the pages you view. I don't use any of it for advertising, and ad features are switched off.
If you decline, or haven't chosen yet, no analytics cookies are set. Google still receives anonymous, cookieless pings it uses to model overall traffic.
Google Analytics keeps this data for up to 14 months.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which handles every request, including your IP address, to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
Stored in your browser
The site saves your analytics choice in your browser's local storage, so the banner doesn't ask again. It never leaves your device.
Videos in old articles are embedded from YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode, which sets no cookies until you press play.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete the personal data I hold about you, or object to how I use it. Email me and I'll reply within a month. If you're unhappy with how I handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
The legal bases are your consent for analytics and my legitimate interest in replying to enquiries and keeping the site running.
